The South African Construction Industry Award was first presented in 2007 in Cape Town, as an annual award to recognise and reward innovation and the highest standard of work in the South African construction industry.

The award celebrates the skills, productivity and prosperity that the industry brings to South Africa.

LOADSHEDDING | Image: GCIS  BY: LOYISO NGAVU  Minister of Electricity Dr Sputla Ramokgopa in his visits to original equipment manufacturers and the Automotive industry says that the Government will procure from Powerships (Karpowership included). Another 400 MW is expected to come online by the end of May through the Standard Offer Programme. Another 100 MWh is being commissioned at Eskom's Worcester Battery Energy Storage System site, with a month and a half to go. With full commissioning of phase 1 of this project to be commissioned by end of June 2023. Minister of Electricity Dr Sputla has also been explaining the Demand management initiative of Eskom to the Automotive industry in his visits.
